Get Touched--Massage Therapy enhances your health

This month's Heath magazine features an article titled "Get Healthy, Get Touched." Writer Norine Dworkin-McDaniel tells readers that getting a massage causes muscles to unclench, heightened blood pressure to fall, racing heart rates to slow, and the stress harmone cortisol to drop.

Cortisol suppresses the immune response and weakens your ability to combat viruses and unhealthy bacterias as well as the ability to fight infections. "Anything that increases the relaxation of response triggers the restoration of your immune response," according to Dr. Roberta Lee, vice chair of the Department of Integrative Medicine at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City.

Chair massages reduce stress too!
Anton's January specials include a one hour massage for $30.00. The rate is even lower when you subscribe to our Facebook Page. Call today for your massage appointment to increase your resilience and relax into the new year.
